Description
These three pelicans looked out of place to me, perched in the treetops of a mangrove forest on the coast of Snake Key in the Cedar Keys of central Forida, and they looked comical to me, looking every which way.
Snake Key has a natural bird rookery with, among others, frigate birds, roseate spoonbills, and pelicans.
Snake Key is part of the Cedar Keys National Wildlife Refuge. It is a wilderness area with thick tropical vegetation (cabbage palms, palmettos, and the like).
The Cedar Keys are a cluster of barrier islands, or keys, that are located off the Gulf Coast of Florida, around the center of the state.
