Description
GRACEFUL GREAT EGRET is a digital photograph by Carla Parris.
This beautiful great egret was captured in the grassy marshes of St. Marks National Wildlife Preserve in northwest Florida.
She looked like a beautiful ballerina as she gracefully bent over to feed in the shallow waters through which she was wading.
The warm spring sun highlights her partially outstretched wings, and lights her beautiful reflection in the foreground waters.
St. Marks is a birdwatcher's delight, with a variety of egrets, herons, other waterfowl, and other birds. It is also a photographer's dream. I never tire of visiting the preserve, because each visit is a unique experience. It is also a very peaceful and serene place that refreshes and renews the soul.
St. Marks is located south of Tallahassee, Florida, on the coast of the Gulf of Mexico.
