Description

EASTERN BLUEBIRD IN COLORFUL BRUSH is a digital photograph by Carla Parris which features a delightful female bluebird perched on a branch against a background of colorful vegetation.

She appears to be waiting for someone or something, as her piercing dark eyes are focused in the distance.

I guess most everyone loves bluebirds, and I am no exception.. They are plump, cute little birds which I associate with springtime and happiness. I suspect my associations are affected by the well known phrase, "bluebird of happiness," and by the old song my husband likes to sing which speaks of "Blue skies shining on me, nothing but blue skies can I see. Bluebirds singing a song, nothing but bluebirds all day long."

I have neighbors who have multiple bluebird visitors to their yards, birdhouses, and feeders, but they are not yet regular visitors to my yard. I have to go out hunting for these cuties or wait to serendipitously happen upon one, as was the case with this particular little gal who was unexpectedly spotted when I was visiting a friend and I just happened to have my camera, with the right lens, in the car. I hope she is the first of many!!

The final image is a composite of two photographs. It has been edited, textured, altered, and enhanced.
