Description
Geraingerfjord in Norway is a stunning UNESCO site. This beautiful fjord is not the very largest of the fjords (that would be the Sognefjord, known as the King of the Fjords), but it was my favorite because it was narrower, which meant its towering cliffs and stunning waterfalls were very close to us as we sailed from the North Sea to the quaint mountain town of Gerainger at the end of the fjord.
This is Friaren waterfall. It is located opposite the Seven Sisters waterfalls. When sailing in, you actually have to decide which of these you want to see, or keep looking back and forth between them!
Norway’s fjords were formed by glaciers during the last Ice Age. Each had its unique character and particular beauty.
