Description
Dry Falls is a popular waterfall on the Cullasaja River in the Nantahala National Forest, located outside of Highlands, North Carolina. It derives its name, and its fame, from the fact that, because the waterfall flows over a cliff, visitors can, after a deep descent, walk behind the falls, under a protruding portion of the overhead cliffs, staying (mostly) dry.
The Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia, and North and South Carolina, are part of the Appalachian Mountain range in the eastern United States. They are a region of woodlands, mountains, gorges, valleys, and great scenic beauty. The blue haze which the mountains have from a distance is attributable to chemicals emitted by the trees which cover much of the hillside surfaces.
