Description
RED DOOR AT NUMBER ELEVEN IN SAVANNAH'S HISTORIC DISTRICT is a digital photograph by Carla Parris.
Jones Street, in the historic district of Savannah, Georgia, is one of the city's loveliest streets.
This residence welcomes visitors with a brightly painted Chinese red enamel finish door with brass hardware.
The striking door at the top of a set of steps from the sidewalk is surrounded by white painted trim, sidelights and a transom window, black wall mounted gaslights, and black iron urns with topiaries.
To the left, there is a window with black shutters and a window box overflowing with lush vegetation.
To the right, there is a drainpipe mounted on the building's brick facade.
This building is a lovely example of the architecture for which Savannah is famous. This entire scene exudes the elegance, charm, and graciousness which characterize Savannah's Southern hospitality.
