Description
Dijon, France, in Burgundy, is full of architectural delights. The city has buildings in a rich variety of architectural styles, including Gothic, Renaissance, and Capetian.
The historic central district of the town, which is UNESCO World Heritage site, has inhabited town houses dating back to the 18th century and earlier. Some buildings have the unique Burgundy polychrome roofs ("toits bourguignons"), built of glazed tiles, in colors including terracotta, green, yellow and black, arranged in various geometric patterns.
This stone building has an eye-catching quartet of windows with cornflower blue shutters and woodwork. The upper story windows have a long iron balcony spanning the two windows. The lower story windows have smaller iron grill work.
This image is all about lines and angles, as well as that fabulous blue!
