Description
The beautiful rural village of Selworthy, in Somerset, England, is located in the National Trust's Holnicote Estate on the northern fringes of Exmoor. It has picturesque thatched cottages which are painted a creamy, buttery yellow with limewash that has been tinted with ochre. The cottage pictured here houses the Periwinkle Tea Room. The village and the surrounding Holnicote estate were given to the National Trust in 1944 by Sir Richard Acland, whose family had owned the estate for nearly 200 years.[

Thank you, Eva, for the feature in Places You Have Visited and Would Recommend! Exmoor definitely fits in that category!!!

Thanks, Cindy. I bet Ireland was beautiful... Even the English, with their "green and pleasant land," talk about how very green Ireland is. I would love to see it someday.

Thank you so much, Marsha! We visited Somerset on our most recent trip to England, and it was unexpectedly beautiful, with picturesque villages and quaint thatched cottages, such as this. So glad you liked this!
