Description
Live oaks are an icon of the South, and are dearly beloved by Southerners who, in times past, found welcome respite from summer heat in the shade of these massive evergreen trees. Today, the spreading branches of towering live oaks provide beautiful arched passages affectionately called canopy roads. This photograph was taken in northeast Tallahassee, Florida on aptly-named Live Oak Plantation Road.
