Description
Maclay Gardens is a state park in north Tallahassee, just off Highway 319.
Tallahassee is a lovely city with lots of Southern charm. It has live oak trees, canopy roads, dogwoods, and azaleas. I have always felt the city is in her glory in the spring.
Here, verdant live oak trees spread their graceful boughs over a brick walkway near the entrance to the park. Flowering magenta azaleas line the path on both sides.
I grew up in Orlando, and moved to Tallahassee in my college years. Coming from central Florida, where it is green almost all year round, I was delighted to learn that Tallahassee actually has seasons!
