Description
The Gulf coast of Florida was buffeted by gale force winds, torrential rains and flooding, and towering storm surge when Hurricane Hermine went ashore in 2016. This coastal scene shows the aftermath on a stretch of St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge where a colorful, weathered buoy was washed well onshore by the elements.
In this digital composition, a belted kingfisher, which was photographed on another visit to the national park, surveys the scene.
The palette of this landscape scene is warm tones of green and gold, pale aqua, and touches of green, rust, grey, and white.
