Description
Volterra is a walled town in central Tuscany with medieval and Renaissance buildings, Roman ruins, and Etruscan sites. From atop the town's medieval ramparts, their is an impressive view of the remains of Volterra's Roman theater and baths. These are some of the best-preserved Roman remains in Italy. The theater ruins date back to the 1st century B.C., while the baths behind the theater date back to the 4th century A.D.
