Description
Meteora, Greece has amazing stone formations and immense rounded mountains. The natural landscape is inpressive itself. But then there are these impossibly perched monasteries that are absolutely jaw-dropping! Today, six of these architectural wonders remain and can be visited.
The mind boggles thinking of how these structures were ever constructed. Monks somehow used systems of rope ladders, baskets, and scaffolding to scale these immense rugged cliffs and construct these structures. Today, we can only gaze and marvel!
