Description
SPRING BEAUTIES is a digital photograph by Carla Parris.
Spring is my favorite season, and I love spring flowers! I especially love the earliest ones which appear on fruit trees and other flowering trees, as they provide the first welcome promise of warmth and sunshine.
This branch of a flowering tree, which I think is an ornamental cherry tree, was photographed on a walk around my Tallahassee, Florida neighborhood.
The flowers are a lovely shade of pink. They have five petals, with deeper color in the throat of the blossom. The pistil and stamen are long, wispy bits which give the blooms a light and airy appearance.
Tallahassee is in her glory in the spring, when flowering dogwoods pop out all around town, but especially in the older established neighborhoods, and brightly colored azaleas, in pinks, purples, oranges, and whites, bloom prolifically in most yards. These lovely flowering trees are paving the way for the profusion of color that is coming!

Thanks, Bob and Nancy. I wish I knew what they are... Cherry tree blossoms, maybe? I saw them in a neighbor's yard, right by the street, on an evening stroll when I just happened to have my camera, what with it being spring and all. They look a lot like our cherry tree's blossoms, but will have to do a little research to confirm!
