Description
Apalachicola is a quaint, historic town in northwest Florida.
Once the home of a thriving oyster industry, its bay is currently closed, awaiting repopulation of oysters that have suffered a decline in recent years. But good seafood can still be had there!
The Chattahoochee River flows into the Apalachicola River, which flows into the Apalachicola Bay, which flows into the Gulf of Mexico.
Starting at the Apalachicola Bridge, which connects the town with Eastpoint, one side of the river offers views of the town’s waterfront on the back side of Water Street, while the other looks across grassy marshes. But very quickly, the river offers wild, unspoiled beauty in every direction.
This is the Florida of years gone by. This is the other Florida.
This is peace and serenity and a pace of life that will refresh your weary mind, soul, and body.

A beautiful Florida land/seascape, Carla. Love that natural vegetation along the river. L/fv
