Description
The Provincetown breakwater, which is more technically a dike, protects the inner harbor, its central piers, and its vessels by calming the waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
The breakwater also functions as a kind of bird sanctuary for a large colony of cormorants.
Here, early morning light creates a peaceful and serene view across the harbor, breakwater rocks, and distant ocean, highlighting a fishing vessel and several scattered buoys.
