Description
St, Marks National Wildlife Refuge is a national park on the Gulf coast of Florida, south of Tallahassee.
The preserve is a wonderful place for viewing wildlife and particularly for bird watching.
The drive through the refuge ends at the St. Marks lighthouse, which is right on the marshy coast. This photograph was taken near the lighthouse as the sun was setting over the salty Gulf waters.
In the foreground, ripples in the form of concentric circles attest to the presence of at least a couple of fish swimming in the shallow brackish waters.
Sunlight glistens on the still, peaceful waters, and on the wet mud at the water's edge.
