Eze is a medieval village perched between the sky and the sea on a narrow rocky peak overlooking the Mediterranean Sea..
The ancient fortified Provencal village has ruins of a 12th-century castle whose grounds host exotic botanical gardens, a walkway to which is pictured here.
The gardens are situated on steep terrain, over 400 meters above the sea. They offer the visitor impressive panoramic views of the coast, as well as an extensive collection of cacti and succulents.
Eze is a popular excursion for cruise passengers whose ports of call on the French Riviera include Nice or Villefranche-sur-mer.
