Description
Farthing Cottage is a quaint building on the High Street of the Cotswolds village of Broadway.
Broadway is often called the "Jewel of the Cotswolds." Located in the county of Worcestershire, the town gets its name from its wide High Street which was, historically, on the route between London and Worcester.
The beautiful tree-lined High Street of Broadway has golden colored limestone buildings, built from local stone, in a range of architectural styles, including Tudor, Stuart, and Georgian. In addition to cottages such as Farthing Cottage, pictured here, there are grander period buildings, including the historic Lygon Arms Hotel.
The sprawling Cotswold region, in south central England has is the largest of England's 40 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It has gently rolling hills, scenic river valleys, picturesque villages, historic market towns, and stately homes and gardens.
The Cotswolds are a quintessentially English region sure to please the visitor in search of delightful English charm!
There is a companion image, also in 8x10 format, entitled Half Penny Cottage. These two were designed to work as a set, as well as individually.
