Artist's Description
Vintage Rhododendrun is an original photograph which has been given an Old World vintage and painterly look with digital editing and enhancing.
The palette of this image is warm tones of greens and browns, with purplish pinks.
In the late spring, the hillsides of the Smokey Mountains are covered with flowering rhododendruns, affectionately referred to as rhodos. These flowering shrubs have a distinctive look, with slender leaves which spread out from a central point and gracefully drape down from clusters of blossoms.
This photograph was taken in the North Carolina mountains in May, 2018.
About Carla Parris
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces.
