UNION JACK PENDANT ON ENGLISH COPPER PENNY is a piece of handcrafted jewelry by Carla Parris.
This resin covered English copper penny pendant necklace features the red, white and blue flag called the Union Jack.
The Union Flag, or Union Jack, is the national flag of the United Kingdom, which is comprised of England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland.
Its design dates from an 1801 Royal Proclamation following the union of the Kingdom of Great Britain (comprised of England, Wales, and Scotland) with the neighboring Kingdom of Ireland.
The Union Jack is comprised of aspects of three older national flags: the red cross of St George, on a white background, for England and Wales; the white saltire of St Andrew, on a blue background, for Scotland; and the red saltire of St Patrick to represent Ireland.
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces.
