Description
Savannah Historic District Sidewalk Scene is a travel photograph by Carla Parris.
Jones Street is one of the loveliest streets in Savannah's historic district, where visitors can wander along tree covered sidewalks, admiring the architecture for which the city is famous.
Savannah was the first city in the southern state of Georgia. With its picturesque squares, cobblestone streets, and historic buildings, it exudes Southern charm.
The architecture of Savannah is quintessential southern, with columns, balconies, ornate iron grillework, and elegant staircases.
Savannah is a planned city which is laid out in streets running parallel, and perpendicular, to the riverfront, and Factor's Walk, where the cotton trade flourished.
