Artist's Description
NEW AND OLD is a natural abstract photograph by Carla Parris.
This bright spring green vine growing up against a weathered, rusted piece of aqua nautical equipment on the Florida Gulf coast, presents a lovely contrast both in its newness and in its color. The salt air and saltwater wreak havoc on metals and other materials, but often result in beautiful textures and patterns, and interesting natural abstracts.
About Carla Parris
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces. My interest in traditional art has spilled over to my post processing of photographs, and in addition to images with minimal post...
