Mendocino is a beautiful county on the Northern California coast, located north of Sonoma County.
The headlands, pictured here, offer spectacular views, and are themselves a dramatic feature of the coastal landscape.
The small town of Mendocino, which is located just a short distance south of Fort Bragg (the entrance to the redwood country), has been in numerous films. It is perhaps most known as the site of the filming of the television series, Murder She Wrote, which is somewhat unexpected, as that series was set in a fictional New England town called Cabot Cove.
The coastal area has two tourist attractions: a lovely botanical garden with a delightful tea room, and unique "Glass Beach," which was formerly the site of the city dump, but now has a beach covered with smooth, multicolored sea glass.
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces. My interest in traditional art has spilled over to my post processing of photographs, and in addition to images with minimal post...
