IMPRESSIONISTIC STILL LIFE is a digital painting by Carla Parris in a style, and palette, reminiscent of French Impressionist painters such as Claude Monet.
The subject matter is a rather traditional style still life, with a casual, loose arrangement of flowers in a cut glass crystal pitcher. However, the post processing and digital painting added a lovely palette of an array of vibrant pastels and thick, luscious, impasto style texture, resulting in a final image with an Impressionistic and Old World look and feel.
With its heavy textures, this painting would be particularly nice printed on canvas. It would also be lovely in a painted, distressed, white, shabby chic type frame.
About Carla Parris
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces.
