This dilapidated building was photographed along the "Forgotten Coast" on a stretch of Highway 98 near the coastal towns of Eastpoint and Carrabelle, Florida, and near St.George Island. The area around the abandoned structure was strewn with oyster shells.
This coastal area, as well as stretches of the coast further west, is sometimes affectionately referred to by locals as the "Redneck Riviera."

My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. My interest in traditional art has spilled over to my post processing of photographs, and in addition to images with minimal post...

Thanks, Sharon. There is a shop that carries some of my photo cards, and the owner wanted some cards with photos like this and the wording, "Greetings from the Redneck Riviera." She is a Gulf Coast girl, so she means that affectionately, and not at all disparagingly. I thought this was a particularly good candidate. :)
