ENGLISH THATCHED COTTAGE ON THE ISLE OF WIGHT is a painterly style digital photograph by Carla Parris.
This charming English thatched cottage is surrounded by a delightful English garden. A loose jumble of flowering plants grows happily around the front of the cottage, and thick vines climb over the front door and ground level windows, nestling cozily beneath the overhanging eaves of the thick thatched roof.
This picturesque cottage is located in the tiny village of Godstone on the Isle of Wight. The island, off the south coast of England, is a popular destination for tourists and holiday-makers. It is most readily reached by taking a ferry from the port of Southampton, across the Solent, to the yachting town of Cowes.
This textured image has a palette of red, green, and neutral grays and browns, with white accents.
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces. My interest in traditional art has spilled over to my post processing of photographs, and in addition to images with minimal post...
