Description
Burnt Island Light, built in 1821 and located just a mile from Boothbay Harbor, is the second oldest surviving lighthouse in the state of Maine.
It has a conical tower, built of granite and lined with brick. The four-foot thick walls at the tower’s base have given it such stability that it has never been rebuilt.
