THE GENERAL Iis a digital photograph by Carla Parris.
This seagull is clearly the boss of his stretch of the beach on beautiful St. George Island. His behavior towards other birds was aggressive, and after he had cleared interlopers from his turf, he assumed this hunched lookout position, asserting his supremacy and dominance over his stretch of sand.
About Carla Parris
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces. My interest in traditional art has spilled over to my post processing of photographs, and in addition to images with minimal post...
