Golden yellow poppies grow wild in California. They can be seen on hillsides and roadsides throughout the state.
Here, the vivid golden yellow of the flowers is backlit by the warm Southern California sunshine. They are mixed in with purple flowers and green vegetation, forming a perfect triad color scheme.
About Carla Parris
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces. My interest in traditional art has spilled over to my post processing of photographs, and in addition to images with minimal post...
