A great egret perched on an outstretched limb of a dead tree stands, in statuesque, regal beauty, as a sentinel over the wild beauty of the marshes of St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge.
Located in northwest Florida on the Gulf of Mexico south of Tallahassee and Woodville, the national park is a place of untamed beauty where a wonderful array of birds and other wildlife live protected and free. It is a nature lover's paradise.
This painterly style image began with a photograph taken September, 2017. A painted texture was added to enhance the color and beauty of the initial capture.
This image has a serene and peaceful look and feel, with the solitary bird in the vast expanses of the marshes of the Gulf Coast.
