Description
SOMERSET THATCHED COTTAGE WINDOW is a digital painting by Carla Parris.
Thatched cottages exude quintessential English charm, especially when they are surrounded by a flower-filled English country garden!
The region of Somerset has many thatched cottages. Selworthy is a particularly picturesque town, with a lovely collection of cottages in a beautiful natural setting.
In that region, most of the thatched cottages are a lovely buttery yellow, created by ochre tinted limestone.
This digital painting began with a digital photograph taken on a very enjoyable trip to this delightful region.

I really like the contrast between the focused area, and how it appears to almost melt into its surroundings. Splendid!
