Description
Spring has arrived, and the azaleas around the pond at Maclay Gardens are blooming!
This state park is located in Tallahassee, Florida. It features a wide brick path overhung with a canopy of Spanish moss-covered live oak trees; a rectangular reflecting pool with views of Lake Maclay; a small secret garden; and this pond, sometimes called "Black Pond."
The reflections in this dark pond are one of the most beautiful aspects of this pond, and are reminiscent of those in the pond in the Japanese Gardens at the Giverny home of French impressionist painter Claude Monet.
There is a lovely path around this serene and peaceful spot which is surrounded by azaleas and dogwood trees.
