MULTI-COLORED BLOSSOMS is a watercolor painting by Carla Parris.
This semi-abstract, impressionistic floral watercolor painting began with pressing saran wrap into wet paint. After the paint dried, the saran wrap was removed, and the floral shapes were enhanced with negative painting (painting the areas around the image, rather than the image itself).
Paintings done in this fashion often have a spontaneous serendipitous look and feel.
The palette is essentially a triad color scheme consisting of three secondary colors of orange, green, and purple.
This piece has a tropical look and feel.
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces. My interest in traditional art has spilled over to my post processing of photographs, and in addition to images with minimal post...
