LOCKS OF LOVE is a digital photograph by Carla Parris.
In Ljubljana, the capital city of Slovenia, in eastern Europe, there is a footbridge crossing the river Ljubljanica which was officially opened in July 2010.
Shortly thereafter, padlocks of couples in love started appearing on the bridge's steel wires.
It is now a popular tradition throughout the world for couples wishing to make a symbolic declaration of eternal love to personalize a padlock, affix it to a public bridge, and throw the key away.
