Description
These tiny yellow wildflowers, with tiny pincushion- or button-like flowers, were photographed at St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge, in northwest Florida, on October 17, 2017.
It was a very windy day, with a northerner coming down, and the yellow goldenrod and other tall vegetation were blowing wildly in the breezes. It was butterfly season at the preserve, including migrating monarchs, but the butterflies I saw were clinging to swaying branches and flowers for dear life. These sweet and adorable little flowers were growing close to the ground, and I was able to capture this image during a lull in the action.
