CHENGDU PANDA is a digital photograph by Carla Parris.
This adorable, cuddly looking, giant panda, perched atop an elevated bamboo platform and leaning lazily on a horizontal cross piece, looks sleepy and contented and ready for his morning nap.
He was photographed in 2005 in the morning at the Panda Park in Chengdu, China, in Sichuan Province, shortly after he had finished his breakfast of bamboo.
The Panda Park is a wonderful place to visit. The pandas can be seen in a very natural setting. Visitors are able to get very close to the pandas, and can even hold baby pandas!
In addition to these black and white giant pandas, the park also has a collection of red pandas. There are also lovely grounds with a pond with swans. And at the entrance, there are lots of booths where entrepreneurial Chinese sell a wide variety of panda theme items, like stuffed teddy bears, for visitors wanting souvenirs!
