Description
This beautiful pastoral scene was photographed in Otto, North Carolina.
There is a pond in the foreground, a stretch of fencing beyond, and trees and the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains in the distance.
The Blue Ridge Mountains are a stretch of the Appalachian mountain range in the eastern United States.
As seen here, the Blue ridge mountains have a bluish haze when viewed from a distance. This color derives from isoprene released into the air by trees.
The Blue Ridge region includes two major national parks (the Shenandoah National Park, in the north, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, in the south) and the scenic 469 mile long Blue Ridge Parkway. There are also access points to the historic Appalachian Trail.

Carla, what a beautiful landscape; I love the Blue Ridge mountains, which are so expertly presented in this lovely view of them. l/f
