Description
On an unusually warm day in January, 2017, a mother alligator on the river bank, and her line of babies perched on a partially submerged log, are enjoying the warmth of the sun.
All of these Florida gators are partially camouflaged with some of the algae which covers the water.
How many baby gators can you count? Look closely. There are at least eight!
This square format image features the adult female alligator at the top, and a row of juvenile alligators in a diagonal line running from lower left, in the foreground, to the upper right.
The palette of this textured image is predominantly green with touches of grey and brown.
St. Marks National Wildlife Reserve is located in Wakulla County, Florida, south of Tallahassee, on the Gulf coast. As many times as I have visited the park, there is almost always something new and special to discover on every visit. These reptiles were the treat which awaited me on this January, 2017 visit!
