Description
Apalachicola is a fishing community on the Gulf coast of Florida, where rope is basic equipment for all kinds of fishermen.
This natural abstract photograph is a macro image of a portion of a large pile of rope and twine piled in a heap on a dockside sidewalk of this quaint and picturesque coastal community.
Some of the rope pictured here is super heavy duty. It is twisted for strength and tightly coiled. Some of its fibers are frayed, and it is weathered and aged from use and exposure to salt water and sunlight.
To the fishermen, it is just a tool of the trade, but for me, it was an interesting and visually pleasing nautical, maritime subject.
