Description
WHITE IBIS AT CENTER STAGE is a photograph by Carla Parris.
The white ibis is a medium-sized coastal bird with white plumage, a distinctive orange down-curved bill, and long legs.
Its aquatic diet consists of crabs, crayfish, fish, snakes, frogs, and insects.
At night, the white ibis roosts high in trees and bushes.
The white ibis, whose genus/species is Eudocimus albus, is a member of the Threskiornithidae family.
This graceful white ibis, bathed in beautiful light, seems to be intentionally striking an eye-catching pose at center stage, in the spotlight, as it perches on a cypress log in the middle of the Wakulla River in northwest Florida, near Tallahassee.
