TWO TAILS is a digital photograph by Carla Parris which shows an osprey and the partial remains of a fish on which the raptor has been feeding.
The osprey, also called fish hawk, sea hawk, river hawk, or fish eagle, is a large hawk that lives along coastal areas.
Ospreys feed on fish. They hunt by flying over the water, hovering, and then plunging feet-first to capture their prey in their long, curved talons.
Like the raptor in this photograph, the osprey often carries its prey to a favorite perch to enjoy his meal.
This image was photographed along the Gulf Coast in northwest Florida in March, 2015.
