SOARING PELICAN IN LATE AFTERNOON LIGHT is a painterly style fine art digital photograph by Carla Parris.
This pelican is gliding effortlessly as he soars above the water.
He is bathed in the golden glow of late afternoon light as he heads home for the evening.
This lovely bird was photographed flying over the harbor in Destin, Florida, near the Gulf of Mexico.
The final image, which has a peaceful and serene feel, was edited and tweaked in Picasa and Photoshop Elements.
Two beautiful textures by Jai Johnson (Summer Morning and Sunrise at Sea) were used in the editing.
My love of photography grew out of capturing images from my travels, so photographs of beautiful and interesting places comprise a large portion of my portfolio. I am a Southern girl, and love the beauty that is in my back yard, so there are also lots of images from close to home. These include images of our beautiful Gulf Coast beaches, which I visit any time I can! I also enjoy capturing images of interesting flora and fauna, and wildlife images I am able to capture with my newest telephoto lens! I am a painter, as well as a photographer, and offer galleries of paintings and mixed media pieces. My interest in traditional art has spilled over to my post processing of photographs, and in addition to images with minimal post...
