Description
FLOWER POWER is a bright, colorful digital photograph by Carla Parris.
These striking orange and purple flowers were growing wild, on an undeveloped patch of dry, arid ground, in Old Town Temecula, California.
The vivid purple and yellow orange, coupled with the dark green of the vegetation, are a striking combination, forming a perfect triad color scheme of secondary colors.
These hardy, drought resistant succulents are known as "ice plants." They are a staple of southern California landscaping. They are frequently used as a ground cover, and can be seen brightening gardens, hillsides, and natural areas in California with their near fluorescent neon colors during certain warm months.
The colors really were this vivid. I did very little editing and enhancing of this photograph.
