A SCRUFFY FLUFFY FELLA is a painterly style textured digital photograph by Carla Parris.
This cute little bird (a finch,I think) looks plump and satisfied with life as he sits with his feathers fluffed out and going every which way. He is a scruffy little guy, and looks adorable!
The initial photograph was taken at a very kid friendly orthodontist office in Tallahassee, Florida. Most of his companions were colorful zebra finches, but there were several more neutral colored ones, and this unusual white one.
You might notice that his beak is a little odd. I learned, on a return visit to the office where he lives, that the gal who takes care of him and his friends actually filed down his beak, as it was causing him difficulty eating. I am so glad these guys get such TLC!
The initial image has been altered and enhanced with multiple texture layers, including a couple by Jai Johnson.
